Our first activity we did was guest which cup held 100 beans. We graphed our predictions. 9 of us thought cup a had 100, 1 thought cub b, and no one thought cup c. Miss Becki started with cup b. We counted as a group and found it had 99 beans. Miss Becki then asked us to predicted by looking at the amount cup b had which one had 100 beans. We then said cup C. We decided we would trick our parents at pick up!
Another activity we had a lot of fun doing was making a necklace with 100 Fruit Loops. We all came up with different ways to go this. Some of us decided we would just start putting the cereal onto the next lace and would count them as we went while others of us decided to count out groups of 10. We knew we needed 10 different groups. A few of us decided it would look great if we did a pattern.
At 10:45 we started our parade. We walked all the way down to the cafeteria and then we hopped into an elevator and went up to the 3rd floor. We wanted to see if we could spy someones dad that works up there! As we paraded around we counted to 100 by 10's and 1's. When we got back into the classroom we even counted up by 5's.
Once we were back in the classroom we did 100 different exercises. After we were down we cooled down by thinking about what it would look like if we were 100 years old. We know Miss Becki is 106 years old so we thought we had a good idea what this might look like. However she told us she looks so young because she hangs out with us and we keep her young. So we took a look at pictures of people around the world who were 100. We were surprised to see 100 year old people running marathons and playing tennis. (I will upload everyones writing later and once the book is created I will hang it up for all to see).
Because Kindergarteners are very caring, loving, and thankful we came up with 100 things we were thankful for. The top responses were our family members.
Out last on going activity we did for 100's day was writing 100 different words. We know a lot and our inventive spelling is getting better each day. I was VERY proud of all their hard work!
